EVV is mandatory for Utah Medicaid home care
The federal 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit Verification for Medicaid personal care services (since January 2020) and home health services (since January 2023) in every state. For Utah agencies, that means visits billed to Utah Medicaid must be electronically verified.
Utah agencies must verify visits electronically for Utah Medicaid. States run EVV one of two ways — a single state system (a designated aggregator you send visit data to) or an open/provider-choice model (you use any compliant EVV solution). Confirm Utah’s current model with Utah Medicaid or your managed care organization.
