The federal 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit Verification for Medicaid personal care services (since January 2020) and home health services (since January 2023) in every state. For Maryland agencies, that means visits billed to Maryland Medicaid must be electronically verified.
Maryland agencies must verify visits electronically for Maryland Medicaid. States run EVV one of two ways — a single state system (a designated aggregator you send visit data to) or an open/provider-choice model (you use any compliant EVV solution).
