EVV is mandatory for Maine Medicaid home care
The federal 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit Verification for Medicaid personal care services (since January 2020) and home health services (since January 2023) in every state. For Maine agencies, that means visits billed to MaineCare must be electronically verified.
Maine agencies must verify visits electronically for MaineCare. States run EVV one of two ways — a single state system (a designated aggregator you send visit data to) or an open/provider-choice model (you use any compliant EVV solution). Confirm Maine’s current model with MaineCare or your managed care organization.
