EVV is mandatory for Alaska Medicaid home care
The federal 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit Verification for Medicaid personal care services (since January 2020) and home health services (since January 2023) in every state. For Alaska agencies, that means visits billed to Alaska Medicaid must be electronically verified.
Alaska agencies must verify visits electronically for Alaska Medicaid. States run EVV one of two ways — a single state system (a designated aggregator you send visit data to) or an open/provider-choice model (you use any compliant EVV solution). Confirm Alaska’s current model with Alaska Medicaid or your managed care organization.
